BRIDGE PARTIES

AT LYCEUM CLUB. A bridge party was held at the Lyceum Club on Thursday evening. The prize was won by Mrs A. 1L Tompkins. Those present were: Mesdames H. Douglas, W. D. Ross, Speedy, A. Beale, Sandford, Burtenshaw, Wooller, Bevin, A. W. Green, jenkinson, Farmer, Coventry, J. Chitty, Burley, Grylls, Seifert, Chapman (Auckland), A. H. Tompkins, Stubbs, Misses E. Eggleston, M. Deßensy (Auckland), A. Drake, A. Bourlce, D. Johnson, Hooker, E. Stubbs, E. Walmsley, Fricker. FOR CARNIVAL FUNDS. Mrs J. F. Smith, of Vialou Street, was hostess at a bridge ptrty on Thursday afternoon given for laa Runnerstrum, the Whitiora candidate for the Frankton branch of the Plunket Society’s carnival. .Mrs Smith received her gueats in a frock of black marocain, relieved with apricot georgette. Prizes were won by Mrs F. Booth, Mrs Cramp, Mrs Henderson, Mrs Trevor and Miss Devery.

A bridge afternoon was given by Mrs Ken. Trembath at her home, Manama Street, on Friday afternoon to further the cause of Robin Fahey.

Mrs Trembath received her guests wearing a smart frock of navy crepesuede. The prizes were won by Mrs Zellman and Mrs Wooller.
