SURPRISE PARTY.
MRS Q. R. BARNETT FAREWELLED. A surprise party was taken to the Deanery on Thursday evening in honour of* Mrs G. R. Barnett, who is shortly to leave for England to make her home there. The organisers of the- party were Mrs A. W. Ward, Mrs A. R. Clark and Mrs Kent Johnston.
A competition was played and was won by Mrs 0. R. Farrer.
Those present were: Mrs G. R. Barnett, Mrs A. W. Ward, Mrs Kent Johnston, Mrs A. R. Clark, Mrs J. F. Slrang, Mrs C. Innes, Mrs H. C. Ross, Mrs Haseler, Mrs M. Quick, Miss Reena Empson (Te Awamutu), Mrs 0. R. Farrer, Mrs W. G. Pountney, Mrs G. Valder, Mrs H. Edgcumbc, Mrs W. McNicol, Mrs R. Seddon, Miss M. Harrowell, Mrs C. F. Clayton-Green, Miss M. Stevens, Mrs W. H. Hume, Miss M. Rankin, Mrs 11. M. Hammond, Mrs A. Joseph, Mrs 11. T. Gillies, Mrs Sinclair, Miss A. Moore, Miss M. Roche, Mrs 11. J. Ferguson, Mrs E. M. Masters, Mrs R. 0. E. Carey, Mrs A. E. Bouillon.
Songs were given by Mrs A. E. Bouillon, and violin solos by Yivette Bouillon. Piano duets were played by Mrs 11. M. Hammond and Mrs G R.
Barnett, and Mrs Sinclair and Mrs II J. Ferguson.
A presentation was made to Mrs Rarnett of a hat-box and manicure sc-L from her many friends, many of whom wero unable to attend the- party.
