(Received May 20, 10.35 a.m.) NEW YORK, May 19.; A report from Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, states that Miss Ameha Earhart Putnam took off from Teterboro Airport this afternoon for Harbour Grace on the first leg of what she hopes to be the first solo flight by a woman across the Atlantic. She may stop at Saint John, New Brunswick, to-night. She is accompanied on the first stage by Bernt Balchen and Eddio Gorski, mechanic, and is using a fast Lockhead monoplane.
