PERSONAL. Aliss Tierney has left for Paeroa, where she will be spending the holiday vacation with her parents. Aliss R. Chalmers with her friend, AL Briser, have left for Kawhia, where they will he spending the holidays. Break-up Function. A very pleasant afternoon was spent in Ihe Taihoa Hall on Thursday aflernoon, Ihe occasion being tiic annual break-up for Ihe Chrislmas vacation. The children trained by (heir teacher, Aliss 11. Tierney, gave a delightful performance, which consisted of action songs, folk (lancing and recitation, and which was thoroughly enjoyed by all present. A feature of Ihe afternoon was a Christmas tree, from which every child present was handed a gift by Father Chrislmas. Afternoon lea provided by Ihe parents and friends was much appreciated, after which Ihe attendance prizes for (lie year were presented by Ihe chairman of Ihe school commillee. Mr A. Wallace, lie also, al the same lime, look Ihe opporluni!y of presenting to Miss Tierin'' on behalf of Ihe school children a small token, with their best wishes for a bright New Year, after which all joined in singing " For She is a .lolly Good Follow.” The rest of the lime was spent in social dial after which the people departed for home.
