THE WILTON MINE.
CLEARING SLIP IN TUNNEL. GOOD PROGRESS MADE. The clearing of the slip in the tunnel which leads to the Wilton coalmine at Glen Massey is proceeding satisfactorily. It is expected that work will be resumed on Monday. As the result of the clearing work of the last two weeks the original tunnel will be converted into a deep cutting. It penetrates a hill, which rises right at the entrance to the mine, and it is about 80 chains long. The sides of the cutting are being well strengthened.
