MORRINSVILLE NEWS.

INTERESTING ADDRESS. A representative gathering of ladles of the Presbyterian, Methodist and Baptist congregations met in Knox Hall on Monday afternoon to hear an address by Miss Ireland, who has been working in India with the Zion Mission for the last 15 years. At the conclusion of an interesting address, afternoon tea was served. Songs were given by Mrs Barford, and a pleasant time spent in conversation. A concert and picture entertainment, in aid of the funds of the Morrinsville Bowling Club, was held in the Strand Theatre on Monday evening. In addition to the pictures screened, songs were given by Mrs A. Topham and Messrs R. Walton (Waitoa) and L. Echlin. Mr Moor (Waitoa) played cello selections. Mrs J. Wilson played the accompaniments.

At the August meeting of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union at which the president, Mrs I. A. Walker, presided, there was an attendance of 45 members. The president gave a brief report of the work done at the recent Dominion conference. An interesting and instructive address on the care of teeth was given by Mr F. A. Hanan, for which he was accorded a hearty vote -of thanks. It was reported that at present there were two W.D.F.U. housekeepers working in the Morrinsville district, and an application had been received for a third. At the September meeting the - .produce of members’ home industries will be sold.

The president was hostess for the afternoon, and the refreshments were served by the Kereone ladies.

PERSONAL.

Miss Level, of Hamilton, is visiting her sister, Mrs S. Currall, Kiwitahi. Mrs Stevenson, of Hamilton, is visiting her daughter, Mrs N. Potter. Mr and Mrs A. F. Wills, from Hawera, have taken up their residence in Morrinsville. Mr and Mrs A. Waters, from Wanganui, are now residing in Morrinsville. Mr and Mrs J. Johnston, of Rotorua, have been staying with Mrs T. J. Ryan.

Mrs E. Saunders and Miss Aroha Saunders have been on a visit to Auckland.
