AEROPLANE CRASHES.

PASSENGER KILLED. PILOT SERIOUSLY INJURED. MACHINE SMASHED TO PIECES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) BLENHEIM, Sunday. A serious aeroplane crash occurred at the Woodbourne aerodrome to-day, resulting in grave injuries to the pilot, Mr Frank V. hysons, of Hawera, and his passenger, Mr Cyril CoryWright, of Auckland. They had flown from Christchurch en route to Wellington and were about to land when the machine got out of control over the aerodrome and spun Into the ground, striking with such force that the engine was partly buried and the machine reduced to a shapeless mass, no part of which will be worth keeping. Fortunately, there was no Are. Mr Cory-Wrlght is the more seriously injured, suffering from fractured limbs and internal injuries. Mr Lvsons’ injuries include a broken ankle and foot and other severe injuries. Mr Lysons recently returned from a trip to England, where he purchased the aeroplane, which is Ithe latest type of Spartan Arrow. Both men hold pilot’s licenses. Mr Cory-Wright, is a son of Mrs Corv-Wright, of Auckland. He holds a pilot’s certificate and Is a member of the committee of the Auckland Aero Club. DEATH OF MR CORY-WRIGHT. LYSONS’ CONDITION SATISFACTORY (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) BLENHEIM, Monday. Mr Cyril Cory-Wright, one of the victims of yesterday’s air crash, died at 9 o’clock this morning. Lysons' condition Is satisfactory.
