CHARGE DISMISSED.
ALLEGED NEGLIGENT DRIVING. AUCKLAND, Tuesday. Following a disagreement of the jury, a retrial was taken in the Supreme Court yesterday of the case of Robert John Burling, aged 24, who was charged with negligently driving a motor-car at Alanurewa, thereby causing the death of Charles Berry Simons, who was a passenger in the car, when the vehicle collided with a telegraph pole on the Auckland side of the Alahia Bridge. The jury retired at 4.30 p.m. and returned ten minutes later with a verdict of not guilty.
