OCCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
SPORTSMAN ACCIDENTALLY SHOT. TE PUKE, Monday. Serious wounds were received by Mr Robert Dykes of Pongakawa, when out shooting yesterday. He was removing his rifle from a boat on Lake Rotoeheu, when the trigger apparently caught in some equipment, causing the rifle to discharge. Mr Dykes received the charge in the right arm. It shattered the bone above the elbow.
WOMAN’S SUDDEN DEATH
AUCKLAND, Tuesday.
While awaiting an ambulance to take her to hospital, Airs Alary Allen, a widow, who resided at Ponsonby, died suddenly.

■ A 'young Jersey hull which Mr Henry Gilbert, of Oronga, was leading on a rope suddenly became fractious and attacked,Air Gilbert fiercely. Air Gilbert was not able to drive the animal off until he had received two broken ribs and several severe cuts;
