INTOXICATED MOTORIST.
FINED AND LICENSE CANCELLED SALES MANAGER’S OFFENCE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. Pleading guilty to a charge of being intoxicated while in charge of a motor car John James McOrquondale, a sales manager, aged 25, was fined £ls and cost's, by Mr Mosley, S.M. Accused’s license was cancelled and he was prohibited from obtaining a new one for 12 months.
Senior-Sergt. O’Grady said that at 5.20 last evening accused approached the intersection of Cashel and Colombo Streets. The traffic inspector, seeing that something was wrong, jumped on the running board, and found accused lying hack in the seat. He was in an advanced state of intoxication. Accused had been convicted and fined £25 for a similar offence at Wellington.
