UNEMPLOYMENT BOARD. A PROTEST REGISTERED. (By Telpgraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. A largely-attended meeting of the Wellington Trades Council and District Council of the New Zealand Alliance of Labour last night considered the question of nomination of a workers’ representative on the Unemployment Board. The following statement was issued to-day:—The meeting registered a protest against the procedure it is proposed to employ in this case for the appointment, insofar as no provision is made for some sort of an election in the event of there being more than the required number nominated. As the time allowed does not permit of any national co-ordination it will mean that the Minister will have to choose the worker representatives from possibly a number of nominat ons, and this is really the function of the workers’ organisations. The meeting, by a large majority, carried a reso ution to recommend all ils affiliations to nominate Messrs Bromley and Cornwell. Air Roberts was welcomed back from Genova
