PROSPEROUS YEAR. PROFITS TOTAL £4078. The seventh annual report of the Hamilton Starr-Bowkett Building Society, which will be presented at the annual' meeting next Friday, shows accumulated profits totalling £-*o7o 2s Bd. Computing the subscriptions on yearly rests, the accumulated profits are equivalent to almost 10 per cent, simple interest on/the money subscribed by shareholders. The surplus at the close of each financial year during the past three years has been as follows: —1028, £3047;1929, £3732;1930, £4028. The sum of £BSB 16s has ueen paid out during the year to shareholders who withdrew, from the society, the total amount paid out to date being £3276. The directors have decided to continue the working expenses levy during the ensuing financial year at the. rate,, of 2s per share. ; “It is with deep regret that your directors have to record,, the death of Mr John McKinnon,” adds the report, “and they wish to place on record their high appreciation of the valuable services rendered by him on the directorate since the incorporation of the society.” , The vacancy caused by the cteatii of Mr McKinnon will be filled at the annual meeting with that of the retiring director, Mr D. Hay, who is eligible, and offers himself for reelection.
