CAR COLLIDES WITH POST. FOUR PEOPLE INJURED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) OAMARU, Thursday. While Mr John Bishop was returning from a dance at Richmond early this morning, driving a light car, it collided with a lamp post opposite the racecourse ctnd overturned. The injured persons are:—Mr Bishop, badly crushed hands and shock, condition serious; Miss Alice Slavin, severe shock; Miss Muriel Campbell, serious injuries 'to th» head; Mr L. A fatal accident occurred at Methven this evening when, a motor-car driven by Mr 'Lawrence McKendry crashed into the rear of a gig. Miss Rachel Highley, one of the occupants of the gig, received injuries from which she died later. Mrs Highley, the other occupant, was seriously hurt. Mr McKendry suffered minor injuries.
