SHOTS FIRED.

OTOROHANGA . SENSATION. young man apprehended. COMMITTED TO MENTAL HOSPITAL. (Special to Times.) OTOROHANGA, Thursday. Promiscuous shooting in Te Kanawa Street, Otorohanga, at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, created a mild panic among the dwellers in the vicinity. Constable Shaw was quickly on the scene and effected the arrest of a young man, aged 26 years. Six shots frbm a pea rifle had been fired into adjacent residences, one bullet being located in the -end of a pillow, in a bedroom usually occupied by children, but who were, fortunately, not using this particular room that night. The arrested man was taken to Te Kuiti and committed to the Tokanui Mental Hospital.
