ANZAC DAY.
SHOULD BE PERPETUATED. GENERAL RICHARDSON’S VIEWS. “There has been some suggestion - that the Anzao Day ceremony should be discontinued,” remarked General Sir George Richardson in the course of an address at the annual social of the Waikato Returned Soldiers’ Association last night. “I do not agree with that,” said Sir George. “I think it should be perpetuated in order to let the children of future generations know of the sacrifices made by their forbears. It will thus be one of the surest ways of impressing future generations with the uselessnes of war, and a great factor in the cause of peace.”
