PROFESSIONAL BILLIARDS.
LINDRUM’S CONTRACT. RULES FOR NEXT SEASON. United Press Assn. —Flee. Tel.—Copyright. (Received March 11, 2.5 p.m.) LONDON, March 10. Lindrum informed an interviewer to-night that he had finalised his arrangements for next season. He and McConachy had signed a contract under the auspices of Mr Camkin, of Birmingham, in conjunction with Mr James Cloth. Lindrum will receive the highest salary ever paid a professional for one season. Davis and Newman have also signed up under the same auspices. The contracts in nowise prevent their competition for the championship should the players desire to enter. The rules governing the next season will differ from those at present as the result of a conference of professionals to-day who all agreed that Lindrum was so far ahead that they would honour him by handicapping the games. This will be on the points system. Lin,drum will receive six points for each 1000 breaks and others ten points. Lindrum will sail for Australia on April 11, and expects to return to London in the middle of September, and he will be engaged up till Christmas.
