Happy Gathering. The ladies of the district gathered to wish Miss McGuirk happiness in her approaching marriage and to present her with a beautiful hearth-rug, as a token of the esteem in which she is held. An enjoyable afternoon was passed with competitions and music. The afternoon was concluded by the serving of a dainty afternoon tea. New Party Line. The new party wire which will connect about 10 subscribers, most of whom are now connected with the Ilarapepe Post-offlce, direct with the Hamilton exchange is nearing completion. Two gangs are employed in the erection of the line, so the settlers hope to be connected in a few weeks.
