THE FARMERS’ UNION.

WOMEN’S DIVISION. The usual monthly meeting of the above was held on Friday, October 4. A good supply of books and magazines were handed in by members for our Dominion Book Club as were also recipes for the cookery book which is being compiled at headquarters. Correspondence was read dealing with various matters. It is gratifying to know that twenty country cases have been assisted by our emergency housekeepers since last Christmas. Our lion, secretary, Mi’s Minchin of Te Rapa is now dealing single-handed with the house-keeping activities, as nobody has been found to till the place vacated by Mrs Oudaille.

Since it had been previously decided to hold our annual street stall on the first Tuesday in .November, it ' was thought advisable to begin preparations for Ibis event and it is hoped bj the active co-operation of all members and sympathisers to eclipse all previous efforts. At our next meeting on Friday, Ist. November, final arrangements over the stall will be made. When business was over a delicious afternoon tea was served and enjoyed by all. Cambridge branch held their usual monthly meeting on'September 27. At the conclusion of the meeting a "bring and buy" stall was opened and as a result nearly five pounds were added to the branch funds.
