ROYAL CHILDREN.

QUEEN OF SPAIN’S ENGLISH VISITORS. The beautiful town of San Sebastian, one of Spain's most fashionable seaside resorts, will soon welcome two English visitors, Lord and Lady Carisßrooke, who are going to stay with the Queen of Spain, Lord Carisbrooke's sister, after their visit to Venice, writes a London correspondent. The Miramar Palace, the ■chalet of the King and Queen of Spain, is at the western end of the great sweep of the bay. it is unusual in that it is built of red bricks. It is a very modest palace, and was Uic work of a British architect about iO years ago.

In front of the palace stretches a smooth, green lawn part of which spans a tunnelled road that is part of the sea front. At the back is a wcilwooded piece of rising land, the shade of the many tall trees keeping off the hlaze of Hie southern sun. The last time I was at 'San Sebastian I noticed, 100, how much the 'children of Hie King and Queen enjoy the summer holidays they spent with their grandmother, Queen Cristina, who died early this year. They joined in the public life of the place to an unusual extent, and I often saw them bathing from the royal boxes on the seashore, taking tea in one of the cafes, and playing in the tennis tournaments. They paid annual visits to their grandmother at Miramar Palace and

always thoroughly enjoyed the comparative lack of restriction In tho order of their lives there.
