HOUSEHOLD HINTS.
To clean rusty knives, drop them into a jug of thick, sour milk and let them remain overnight. In the morning they can be easily cleaned. « * * * If velvet ribbon about two inches in width is tacked inside a hat which Is too roomy it will grip the hair without causing discoinrort. * * * * When serving plain boiled rice mix a little ground cinnamon and sugar together and use instead of plain sugar for sweetening. ff & # * 'lf fat is spilt on lop of the oven or stove sprinkle salt on it and smoke and odour will be minimised. In bad cases two or three applications may be necessary.
