BRITAIN’S SURPLUS WOMEN
OPPORTUNITIES IN DOMINIONS WANTED FOR PROFESSIONS. (Australian Tress Association.) LONDON, Oct. 9. Pointing out that the prospects of marriage for young women in the Dominions are much rosier than in Britain, Mr Ponsonby, broadcasting from 2LO, said women were wanted _ not only as household assistants, but' for all the professions. Letters, from girl migrants showed that British girls were welcomed in the Dominions. Australia had more men than women, and Britain 2,000,000 more women than men. Untrue reports that Britain is attempting to drive out, men and women with a view lo lessening unemployment had created suspicion in the Dominions which interfered with the natural flow of population.
