MILK AND ITS VIRTUES
The virtues of milk as a cooking agent are known to most housewives, but it is not generally known that it can be used for many other household purposes. * Warm milk in which a little shredded neutral soap has been dissolved is excellent for cleaning kid gloves. Pull the gloves on to the hands and apply the mixture with a piece of flannel, paying particular attention to the parts between -the fingers. A little fresh milk applied occasionally will keep linoleum in good condition, and at the same time give it a brilliant polish. Small linen articles or garments that have yellowed through careless laundering can be rstored to their original whiteness by boiling them for half an hour in a mixture of milk and water to which a little shredded soap has been added. Rinse in several lots of tepid water, adding a small piece of blue to the last. AWlk slightly heated will remove fresh black ink stains from any kind of materials. Allow the affected parts to soak in the milk for a few minutes, then wash the articles or garments in the usual manner.
