SCHOOL CARNIVALS.
(To the Editor.) S ir , ido not wish to dampen enthusiasm in a worthy cause, but when that enthusiasm is directed into questionable channels I think it is time to enter an emphatic protest. To mi way of thinking the organisers ot the school carnival should have thought twice ere they launched their scheme. Is it necessary to imbue the children with a desire for gain in order to induce'them to take a deep interest in their school? The thing may seem innocent, but its influence is certainly not conducive to the children’s good, and I devoutly hope that the parents and guardians of other schools will not follow the lead which has unfortunately been given-—I am, etc., DAD.
