ANNUAL MEETING.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS,

GOOD FINANCIAL POSITION,

The annual meeting of the Hamilton Rotary Club was held to-day.

The outgoing president, Mr C. L. Mac Diarmid, presented the annual report.

The new president, Mr F. C. House, congratulated his predecessor and the directors on their*. work and on the satisfactory financial position. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year ( : n addition to the directors, whose names have already been announced) :—Sergeant-at-Arms, Mr W. M. Cann; correspondent, Mr C. W. Armstrong; chairman of committees, aims and objects, the president, Mr F. C. House: club service, Mr A. W. Green; community service, Mr D. Hay; vocational se*vice, Mr H. Valder; fellowship, Mr C. L. Mac Diarmid; education, Mr P. R. Stewart; musical, Mr J. Prentice; classification, Mr G. Boyes, programme, Mr W. Y. Kirkman; Master of Ceremonies, Mr S. Robson. , The Year’s Work. ; The annual report of the directors reviewed the operations of the past year and gives the membership at 39. Certain new classifications had been approved and it was hoped several new members would be joining the club in the near future. The attendances of the weekly lucheons had been distinctly good. In addition to 40 luncheons there had been eight, evening meetings. During the the club had taken a special interest in the matter of a boys’ hostel for the High School and partly as a result of its efforts plans had now been prepared for such a building by the Government. The report dealt with other phases of the club’s activities and made feeling reference to the death of the late Mr 0. R. Farrer. It also expressed the sympathy of th directors with Mr W. Pomeroy in his breakdown, and voiced the hope that he would soon be restored to complete health.
