A terrible tragedy occurred at Banffshire, where Mrs. MacDonald i the wife of a farm servant, walked from her home, with her three children, aged four years, three years and ten months respectively, the latter In a perambulator, to a high bank overlooking a deep pool. There she threw the children, one by one, Into the river below despite their screams, and then Jumped In herself. A distracted farmer on the opposite side of the river saw the tragedy but was unabio to Intervene. The neighbours state that before starting on her two and a-half mile walk to the river, the mother told them of her grim Intention, but she was not believed.
