LYCEUM CLUB.
READING CIRCLE MEETS. A meeting of the Reading Circle was held at the Lyceum Club on Tuesday afternoon, when “A Traveller Returns” (Clemencc Dane), “The Old Bull” (Bernard Gilbert), and “Duologue” (St. John Ilankin) were read. The characters were: “A Traveller Returns” (by Clemence Dane) : Simon Foulger, read by Miss Prenton; Isbel Parrot, Miss Houlden; Police Officer, Miss Eggleston; Barly and Joshua, Miss Andrews; Daddy Parret, Miss Hodgson; a Traveller, Mrs Staples; Tom Datchett, Miss Jolly.
“The Old Bull” (by Bernard Gilbert) : Chas. Elmett, read by Miss Andrews; Jas. Elmett, Mrs Campbell: Wm. Smithson, Miss Wyatt; Tom Bones, Mrs Scrimshaw; Sarah Timsley, Miss Wright.
Duologue, “The Constant Lover” (by St. John Hankin) : Cecil, Miss Jolly; Evelyn, Miss Bullock. Others present were: Mesdames Staples, Brewer, Bullock, Seal, Peterson, Standrin, W. Houldcn, Andrews, Graham, Scrimshaw; Misses Bullock (2), Dimmer, Gilflllan, Nlcholls, Brewer.
