KILLED BY A MOTOR.
CALLOUS CONDUCT. COMMENT BY THE CORONER. INVESTIGATION BY THE POLICE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, Wednesday. The circumstances surrounding the death of Patrick Me Clone, who was found lying in a scmi-conscious condition on the Foxton lino on the evening of May 4 and died in hospital later, were investigated by the Coroner whose verdict was that deceased died of haemorrhage and laceration of the brain following a fractured skull caused by being knocked down by a car.
“It seems extraordinary that the person responsible for the accident should not make it known," said the Coroner. " I hope every effort will be made to trace him.”
Senior Sergeant Whitehousc: This is one of three similar cases in the Dominion in a week. Tile matter is very serious. In this case the police have not a great deal to work on, but every effort is being made to trace the car.
