BURGLARY IN DUNEDIN.
VALUABLE JEWELLERY TAKEN. DUNEDIN, Wednesday. A daring burglary which was committed in George Street between the hours of 6.20 and 8.30 last evening, resulted in the loss to Mr E. J. Townsend, a jeweller, of £3OO worth of stock. From a showcase and the window the thieves took Mr Townend’s entire stock of gold wristlet, watches and rings, and thejr "swag” also included gold chains, pocket books, silver cigarette cases and fountain pens. It is evident that the intruders made a thorough search for the keys of the safe, which contained nearly £4O in cash, but in this they were unsuccessful.
