VIENNA, May 25

A sensation was caused at Innsbruck in the Austrian Tyrol, by two students who tore down the Italian Hag, which had been hoisted on the Italian Consulate to celebrate the anniversary of Italy's entry into the war.

The town is seething with excitement and people are wondering if the Italian Prime Minister, Signor Mussolini, will carry out his expressed threat that "Next time we will answer Austrian attack with deeds, not words."

The consul immediately demanded that the flag be rehoisted with military honours. The Mayor agreed, but the populace wa-s only excited to fresh anti-Italian demonstrations, and renewed disturbances occurred.

Late in the e\ening the police charged the crowd with batons, and 20 persons were injured and many were arrested. The consul at 8 p.m. ordered the flag to he finally lowered.
