THE PROHIBITION POLL.
TWO-ISSUE BALLOT PAPER. ALLIANCE RENEWS DEMAND (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Alliance it, wasjtecided: “That the Alliance renew its demand for the removal from Ihe ballot paper of the discredited issue of State Purchase and Control, and Hjat it use every endeavour to secure'facilities for” the passage into law this session of a Bill providing for the adoption of a twoissue ballot paper.”. It also decided to oppose strenuously any proposal to make retrospective provision for the granting of licensing in respect to premises that, owing to changes in the electoral boundaries, have been included in a no-license district, and in.consequence of such inclusion have lost their licenses, and subsequently have been included in a license district. The Alliance opposes a proposal to enable Licensing Committees to authorise the use of one or more private bars in addition to one public bar. It demands that no part of any licensed premises be permitted to be used for the sale or supply of intoxicating liquor other than the one authorised bar.
