FIRE BRIGADE.
TE AWAMUTU ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Tc Awamutu Fire Brigade was held last evening, the superintendent, Mr T. Narbey. presiding. The following officcis weic elected: Secretary, 1* iremau Geo. Swain; treasurer, Fireman 11. E. Wilkes; lion, surgeon, l)r. G. J. Hail, re-elected; auditor, Mr G. 0. Jourdain. The balance-sheet showed a small credit balance. Annual Report. The superintendent reported that during the year the brigade bad received 10 calls. The value of property in which fires had occurred amounted of £0570, the loss being £1625. At the demonstration held at Te Aroha, this brigade was represented by Superintendent Narbey and Firemen Loonib, Long and Wilkes. They were successful in winning both the Howden and Hill-Maloney Shields. This was a very tine performance for so young a team. The following honours were due to the members of the brigade:—Five years’ service medal, Deputy Superintendent. Morris, Fireman Pellow, twodears’ service bar. Dr. llalL
