HOSPITAL COSTS.
PROTEST AT PALMERSTON. APPEAL TO HEALTH MINISTER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., Tuesday. Following upon a notification from 'the Palmerston North Hospital Board of increased levies for the coming year, also estimates of capital expenditure on a new two-storey block of buildings, the Borough Council here last evening passed a resolution requesting 'the Government to appoint an independent commission to inquire into the whole matter of expenditure, the council considering it unnecessary. As a preliminary step it was decided to arrange for deputation to meet the Minister of Health, Hon. J. A. Young, when he visits Palmerston North on Monday next, and place 'the council's views before him.
