Golf Club Ball

The annual Golf Ball was held at Walton on Thursday. There was a large attendance, the hall being filled (o capacity. The room was very nicely decorated and blended beautifully with the ladies' dresses, all of which were smart and in keeping with a function of that kind. Messrs Crickett's Elite Jazz Ranri suplied the music, Miss D. Wilcox and Miss E. Adams playing extras. Mr F. P. Hockly, M.P., and Mrs Hockly were present. Mr Hockly, who is patron of the club, presented the club with a beautiful silver cup. lo be won by the best score two years in succession.

Mr W. McLean, the club's president, introduced Mr Hockly. When handing the cup to the club's president (Mr A. Adams) Mr Hockly said that he was very pleased lo be able (o show some appreciation of the honour of being appointed the club's patron. Messrs McLean and Adams thanked Mr Hockly. declaring that they never expected such a handsome donation. Messrs G. Fromm and A. Adams acted as M's.O. Thefe was a plentiful supply of refreshments, the ladies having prepared several dainty dishes. The evening was a thorough success and was a eredit. to the management committee end other helpers.
