BOYS FOR AUSTRALIA. AUCKLAND, Wednesday. Recommendations for a. proposed tour of Australia by a New Zealand primary schoolboys' team were made by Mr R. P. Harrison, president of the New "Zealand Primary Schools'-Fool-ball Association, at a meeting of the management committee of the Auckland Football Association last evening. Mr'Harrison said the tour would cost about £4OO, and if it eventuated would take place next August. He recommended the.tour should include the four principal States, and that it should extend over a period of seven weeks. :

At least 18 .players would be required, who would be chosen from the four main centres as follows: — Auckland, 5; Wellington, 5; Canterbury, 4; Otago, 4. The greatest care should be taken in regard to the selection of the boys-for the tour, and all players should be uncl.r 15 years of age on June 30, 1928. The permission of the Minister of Education would have to be obtained before the tour could be made.

Mr Harrison suggested the manager and assistant-manager of the team should be primary school teachers, who would be more likely to have control over the boys. The tour would be more of an educational trip with football forming a part, and an endeavour would be made to have lectures arranged for the boys instead of the usual entertainment and receptions.

The cost of sending the team away could be raised as follows: —The parents of each boy to give £10; the local associations £lO for each boy from its district; and the managers of the team £lO each. The New Zealand Council has received several suggested itineraries, and these were under consideration.
