FRISCO TO AUSTRALIA.

PROPOSED FLIGHT. TO LEAVE ON OCTOBER 15. TO CARRY A MAILBAG. (Received Oct. 5, 10.15 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Oct. 4. The Assistant Postmaster-General, Mr W. Irving Glover, announces that a private concern will attempt a flight from San Francisco to Australia about October 15. Mr Glover states the Post Office Department has decided to permit the faking of J 500 letters from the United States on the flight, permisson for this to be done having been given by the Australian Minister of Posts and Telegraphs (Hon. W. G. Gibson). Mr Coolidge will send a letter to Mr Stanley Bruce in the air mail, while the postmaster-General (Jur H. S. New) will forward one lo the Commonwealth. Postmaster-General (Mr Gibson). Mr Glover declared that an opportunity will be given the public to send tetters to Australia by plane, the selection being made from as many different sources as possible.
