A.R.C. SPRING MEETING. SCRATCHINGS POSTED. The following scratchings were posted yesterday in connection with events at the Auckland Racing Club's Spring Meeting:— Great Northern Guineas. —Covent Garden.

RACING IN AUSTRALIA. CAULFIELD MEETING. {*» MELBOURNE, October 4. The final acceptors for the CaulQeld Guineas arc: Columban, Byron. Ninbela, Avant Courier,- Tarquinish, Farrago, Warinero, Chariot, Leontes, Gleamlight, Trivalve, The Wensum and Habashon. Trivalve was brought back to Melbourne to-day. Spearfelt is to be retired to the stud. The following scratchings for the Caulfield Cup are announced: Cromwell, Aorangi, Sion and Theeban. H. Cairns will ride Tookarby in the CaulQeld Cup.
Mr Sol Green's horses, Gothic, Son o' Mine and Valdes are to be returned to Melbourne on Wednesday.
