MATAMATA.
September Rainfall. Mr W. Halligan reports that the local rainfall for September amounted to 3,89 inches, compared with 3.71 inches for the same month last year. Rain fell on 15 days, the maximum for 24 hours being l.lGin. on the 25th inst. The rainfall to date for 1927 totals 43.75 inches. Six frosts were experienced during the period, varying jrom less than 1 degree up to 8.7 degrees on the 13th. Anglican Church. A church parade of local girl guides. and boy scouts was held at All Saints' Church on Sunday. Rev. G. W. Turner gave .an impressive address and also dedicated a Union Jack, presented to the girl guides troop by Mr Arthur Garland, of Sydney. The donor is a brother of Mr W. O. Garland, Crystal Springs, Matamata.
