Representative Games.
The big event of the year, continued the chairman, was the visit of the Melbourne Cricket Club, the- team containing as it did such well-known cricketers as Messrs Warwick Armstrong, Rams ford and Eliding. The visitors had a very easy win, but the lessons learnt by the younger members of the WaikaLo team should prove invaluable to local cricket. The thanks of the committee were due to all those who were instrumental in making such a success of the match. At Christmas and New Year a team under the management and captaincy of Mi- J. J. Hcrrick travelled to Auckland to compote in the Pratt Cup competition. It brought the Cup back with it to Hamilton. A team also travelled to Taumarunui to play King Country, the holders of tin; South Auckland Shield. The game had to be abandoned on account of the wet weather. The King Country eleven later visited Hamilton and were defeated by the local eleven, thus leaving the Shield in Hamilton. U Easier the Auckland Association sent a strong Colts team to Hamilton, which was defeated after a good came by the Hamilton representatives by 3 wickets. A Wellington Colts team played two one-day games in Hamilton with two local elevens at Christmas, defeating the Hamilton players in both games. Other representative games were played at Hamilton against Maniapoto and Putaruru. \' visiting Auckland suburban team visited Hamilton at Easter and defeated the local team by a small margin. The Association expressed its deep regret at the loss of the president, Mr T J Herrick, who had been transferred to Auckland. The Association was deeply indebted "to Mr Hcrrick for the excellent services rendered by him in his past term of oflicc. The thanks of the Association were due to Messrs J. J. Herrick and T. Campbell for the use of their offices for meetings during the year, to umpires Who rendered their service during the past, season, and to all workers for the Association whose services helped to make the season a success. The thanks of the management committee were also due to the players for their keenness and enthusiasm displayed in the competitions.
