WAIKATO CRICKET ASSN.

ANNUAL REPORT. SUCCESSFUL SEASON. In presenting the annual report of the Waikato Cricket Association, the chairman expressed his pleasure at the successful nature of the past season. The action of the association in creating a third grade in the competition was quite justifiable, as the senior "B" grade benefited by such an ac--1 ion. Four teams had been entered in this grade, which was won by Hamilton East. Four senior teams had entered for the competitions, and this also was won by Hamilton East. The junior competition was contested by eight teams.. Old Boys emerging victorious, thus annexing the Cup, as also the knock-out in this grade. There were altogether sixteen teams playing, an increase of six over the previous season. A full-time ground man had been employed on Seddon Park in the past season, but owing to wet weather bis work was affected, the outfield not being in as good a condition as it might have been. Now that the Domain Board had purchased a rotary mower arrangements had been made for the grounds to be kept in good order. Through the efforts of the Hamilton East Club, the Association was able to have the use of two wickets in Steele Park and there was no reason why senior matches could not be played there this year. The two wickets laid down in Seddon Park with Port Albert soil proved a great improvement on the previous state of the pitch.
