WIDOW RECEIVES £SQOO A YEAR. £IOOO FOR HIS VALET. The net value of the New South Wales portion of the late Sir Rupert Clarke’s estate was estimated at £91,114, and the Victorian portion was sworn not to exceed £284,557. A re-seal has been made of the probate granted by the Supreme Court of Victoria, in connection with the will of the late Sir Rupert Clarke, of Bourke Street, Melbourne, who died at Monte Carlo, on December 25, al the age of 61. Testator appointed Henry Joseph Whiting and Robert S. Whiting, solicitors, of Melbourne, and Edward Edgar Dye, accountant, of Melbourne, his executors and trustees. He left legacies ranging from £SOO to £2OOO to certain of his god-child-ren; £SOO to his housekeeper, Rose Margon; £IOOO to his valet, Thomas Duggan; and two of any racehorses which he might select to James Scobie, of Victoria. Certain property at Pittwnter he bequeathed to ills wife, Elsie Florence Clarke, and to the son surviving him. who succeeded to the baronetcy, real estate at Lanccfield, Victoria, consisting of 4622 acres, and the stock there. It was mentioned in the will that whereas he had provided for his wife by two deeds of settlement, he now bequeathed to her an annuity of sucli an amount as would, with the netincome derived from the settlements, total £SOOO a year. The residue of Die estate was to be realised, and out of the proceeds £IOO,OOO was to be set apart for each of his sons, and to apply the net income for the maintenance and education until each attained the age of 21, when the sums so appropriated, together with the accumulated income, become theirs. A sum of £SOOO was directed to be invested, and allowed to accumulate for the son who should, on attaining his majority, succeed to the baronetcy; and a further £60,000 was to be appropriated for each of testator’s daughters.
