TRAINING NOTES.

THIS MORNING’S WORK.

OPERATIONS AT ELLERSLIE. SOME GALLOPS. (Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Saturday. There was beautiful weather for training at Ellerslic this morning. No 1 grass track was available, and the going was good. In view of the approach of the Auckland spring meeting, there were quite a number of interesting gallops. Star Stranger traversed a mile in good style, and appears to be coming on nicely. King Emerald was the first to work, running half a mile in 53 2-5. Restaurant, Luxurious, and Sleepy Sol started at the seven furlong post, but at the top of the straight Sleepy Sol' was pulled up owing to bleeding, the other two finishing on terms, in 1.36 3-5.

Queen Emerald traversed five furlongs in 1.8 1-5. Joy King ran half a mile in 52, going nicely. Star Comet was just in front of War Officer at the finish of six furlongs in 1.20.

Antrim Boy sprinted three furlongs in 39 3-5. Gascony, who traversed half a mile , in 50 4-5, moved pleasingly. Damaris was a' shade better than Catkin at the end of' six furlongs, covered in 1.19. Gold Acre was far to) good for Serang at the finish of five furlongs, run in 1.6 . Gala Day beat Tbursby over six furlongs, in 1.22. Marian’s Birthday was a little in front of Knightlike over four furlongs, in 50 1-s'. . Lady Robinson went round in 2mm. Corinax and Pontieus were on terms at the finish of half a mile, in 54 1-5. Golden Wedding ran five furlongs in 1.9 4-5. Two Cup Horses. Alloway anil Mask set off from the six furlong post, Mask getting the better of the start. After running the first furlong in 13 3-5, they covered two in 26 4-5, three in 39 1-5, and the full journey in 1.19 1-5, Alloway being in front at the finish. Abbey and Judge’s Box ran six furlongs in 1.21 2-5, the latter going the better of the pair. Baby Bun and Fiery Lad covered .seven furlongs in 1.35 3-5. Thaw finished a shade in front of Covent Garden in 50 2-ss. Whaka King and Automne ran five furlongs in 1.5 2-5, the former being in front at the finish. Nassock and Speechless were together in front of Te Tahi and Royal March at the finish of live furlongs in I 'Great Charter, who commenced slowly at the five furlongs post, ran home in 1.7, the last half-mile taking 51 1-5. He went nicely. • Aussie, who had plates on, ran fne furlongs in 1.4 3-5, the last half-mile taking 49 4-5; a good gallop. Star Stranger jumped off at the mile post, and was picked up by Star God at about the six furlongs post. They finished together, Star Stranger’s time being 1.45 1-5. The last six furlongs occupied 1.19. Lysander jumped away at the five furlong post, and ran home in 1.5 3-5. After breakfast, Town Guard trotted round, and was sprinted a couple of furlongs down the straight, going well. Archeno rap five furlongs in 1.7 3-5. Rafferty strode over seven furlongs in 1.39 1-5. Acushla dashed over four furlongs in 535. Wyoming went nicely over six furlongs in 1.23. Soot Free and Amos finished in front of Right and Left at the end of half a mile in 525. Guineas’ Candidate.

Laughing Prince began slowly from the six furlongs post, and after covering the first two furolngs in 28s completed the full distance in 1.19 4-5. Karamu was trotted round to the three furlongs post, and sprinted home in 40 2-5. Ranui had a fair amount of pace on when she jumped off at the six furlongs post, covering the first two in 26 1-5, and the full distance in 1.19 2-5. Valour and Metonic ran four furlongs in 52 3-5. Te Monanui, Desert Glow and Phaola were sent a mile, running the first two furlongs in 28 3-5, the half-mile in 54 3-5, and the full distance in 1.47 4-5. They finished as named. Killute and Charitaine ran six furlongs in 1.21 1-5. Valquette and Sylvanum were sprinted three furlongs in 40 3-ss. Sylvanum ran off on to the sand track at the bend and finished on it. Freehold was timed to run three furlongs in 395. Envoy beat Principal over half a mile in 54 3-5.

Armenia and King Val covered three furlongs in 39 3-5. Presumption and Aggressiveness were on terms at the end of three furlongs, which took 39 4-5. Mint Leaf traversed a round, being joined by Royal Mint at the seven furlongs post, and Oration at the six peg. Oration was slightly in front of the other pair, the lime for the full distance being 1.57 1-5.

Value and Prodice were on terms at the end of half a mile in 50 2-5.

Pompey had the belter of Bannock in a four furlong gallop run in 52 1-5. Justify and Mon Star were sprinted a. few furlongs, but were not timed.

Avon Court and Nankin Blue jumped off at the half-mile post and ran home in 51 4-5. Finelli covered five furlongs in 1.4 4-5. Master Doon ran half-a-mile in 52 1-5. The Jumpers. San Quin (Stairway) was tried over pony hurdles but did not give a very impressive display, baulking on several occasions. Mangani (Mcßae) and Sea Comet (Chaplin) went over the big fences on the flat twice, both giving a good display. „ • Master Noel (Rutherford) went the round of the schooling hurdles. He has improved on his recent showJ n rr S# After jumping two pony hurdles Wee Marble (Driscoll) went over two schooling hurdles, and jumped well. Blue Sky (Sharkey) and Master -\rch (Holland) were companions in a schooling task over four hurdles. Both gave a nice display. Glenotus (Rae), Simphcitus (Sharkey) and Edifice (Rutherford) went aver the big fences, on the fiat after negotiating the sod wall. Edifice baulked at the first fence of the double, the other two going over the stone wall, jumping well. They were given a similar task, but Edifice baulked again, and was not further interfered with. Glenotus and Simphcitus again jumped well, " " '
