HAMILTON STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd-, report: At our weekly stock sale in the Frankton yards yesternay we had a fair entry of principally cow and heifer beef. Prime young cows and heifers sold at late rates; plain cattle were easier. A medium yarding of fat and store sheep was offered. Fats were slightly lower than the previous week, while there was good competition for store iambs. There was a heavy yarding of fat and store pigs and all classes sold well up to last week's rates. Beef: Light fat steers, £6 17s Gd lo £7 19s, unfinished £5 i7s Gd to £G ss; good quality prime heavy fat heifers, £7 12s Gd to £7 14s; fat cows, £5 to £5 ss, medium £1 10s to £4 12s Gd; light cows and heifers, £3 Jss to £4; rough and plain cows, £3 3s to £3 Gs; extra choice vealer calves to £3 18s, light and medium, 39s to £2 J Os; 20-monfhs steers, £3 12s; store cows, £1 10s to £2; weancr Jersey heifers, £3 ss; Jersey cows, 355; springing heifers, £0 to £0 10s. Sheep: Prime fat'wethers sold to 245, light to medium, 2is 3d to 22s 9d; fat ewes, 14s 3d to 15s, plain and light, i2s; store ewes, 10s to 10s 3d; culls, 2s Gd; well grown shorn lambs, in good order, sold up to 15s 7u; oilier good shorn lambs, 13s 9d to 13s lid; medium shorn lambs, 12s to 12s 9d; small lambs, 9s to 9s Gd. Pigs: Heavy baconers, £3 5s to £3 10s, lignt, £2 18s to £3 3s; heavy porkers, £2 14s io £2 17s, light, £2 5s to £2 10s; good stores, 35s to £2; slips, 22s to 255; best weaners, 13s to 16s; small and young, 7s to 10s. Messrs Dalgety and Go., Ltd., report having held their weekly sale at I*rankton saloyards on Tuesday, as under. There was an average yarding of beef, including a few pens of light steers, the major portion being of moderate quality. The demand was moderate. Young prime cows and heifers sold at late rates. Best young cows and heifers £G to £7 12s; ordinary - prime cows, £5 to £5 15s; inferior, £3 12s to £4 15s; runners, up to £3 12s; vealers, 30s to 455; yearling steers, £3 12s; Shorthorn steer calves, (good), £2; pens of Hereford breeding cows made £3 17s Gd and £2 :17s Gd; Hereford 3yr. heifers, £3 ss; mixed-bred run cows, 37s Gd to £2: 2yr. P.A. and Hereford cross heifers, £2 12s Gd; yearling ditto, 37s 6d; yearling steers, £2 9s lo £2 17s Gd; bulls, £2, £1 10s, and £1 Is. There was a large yarding of sheep. Fat sheep were firm at laic rates. Fat ewes made 14s 7d to ISs; prime heavy wethers, 24s lo 24s Gd; fat woolly lambs, 225; shorn fat lambs, 17s. ” There was a good demand for store sheep. Shorn mixed sex lambs made up to IGs; medium ditto, 12s Gd lo 13s 9d; woolly ewe lambs (extra good), 18s; woolly wether lambs (extra good), IGs; 68 store wethers, 17s 3d; 144 store wethers, 18s Gd; 367 2 and 4-th wethers, ISs- Gd; IG4 4 and 6 -111 wethers (forward), 21s Id; 500 store wethers, 20s; 89 2,4, 0, and 8-th. extra good Romney ewes made 25s 6d; 104 f.m. ewes, 15s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency, Go., Ltd., Hamilton, report:—At the Hamilton sale on Tuesday last we penned fat and store stock in average numbers. Prices for beef again declined, although the quality was generally good. A fair demand existed for store cattle. Fat sheep were easier than last week. Store sheep sold under steady competition at late rates. The firm quotes:—-Prime fat young cows and heifers made £5 17s Gd to £7;-lighter prime, £4 13s to £5 9s; ordinary fat cows, £3 lis to £4 B,s; small fat steers, £5 15s; veal calves, £2 Is to £2 19s; small, £1 ts lo £t Gs; fleshy cows, £2 9s to £3: rough store cows, £i 19s to £2: light lat wethers, £i 2s; fat ewes, 14s Gd to 15s Gd; fat and forward 4 and 6-th wethers, £1 Is; store woolly lambs, 13s Id; small shorn lambs, 8s 3d lo 9s 9d.
