In making the presentation Mr Bryant spoke of the happy associations during the four years of Mr Leadley’s ministrations. Mr Bryant referred to the many duties which their guest had undertaken besides preaching. He had acted-as district synod secretary, a task by no means light, in addition to undertaking the secretarial work for four other branches of church work. He had also for some years occupied the honoured position of secretary to the Dominion conference. Mr Bryant referred to the family and said how pleased they ail were to find that the eldest son, Clarence, was following his father’s footsteps and had been accepted as a candidate for the ministry. He assured Mr and Mrs Leadley of the prayers and good wishes from all present. Mr Leadley referred to the extreme difficulty he had to find words fitting for such an occasion. It was gratifying to know that his labours had not been in vain, although he had wished on many occasions that he could do more. Mrs Leadley and himself would treasure the many tokens of love they had received and the many kind words spoken regarding their work. The proceedings closed with the Doxology, after which supper was partaken of.
