EXCURSION FOR FARMERS
SPECIAL TRAIN TO HAWERA.
LECTURES TO BE GIVEN EX ROUTE

The special farmer's train which will leave Franklun Junction lor llawcra at 0.40 a.m. on Wednesday, promises to be well patronised and turn out a popular venture, inquiries for sealing accommodation having been received from fanners throughout the Waikalo. A further innovation and a particularly commendable one, is Hie fact that the Minister of Agriculture had authorised two instructors to accompany the parly and give lectures on farming subjects and the treatment of stock diseases. Any questions farmers might raise would lie dealt with by the lecturers during (he course of the trip. A booklet, describing the classes of country through which the train will pass, the nature of the soil and giving the cost of sowing grass will be issued to every member of the party. The booklet will also deal with historical features of the country, and will draw attention to points of scenic beauty to be seen en route.
