INTOXICATED MOTORIST.
$ — FINED £5 AT CAMBRIDGE. (Special to 'Times.) CAMBRIDGE, Monday. At the Police Court this morning, before Messrs 11. A- Bell and A. J. Arnold, J’s.P., Ronald Watts, a moiorloriy driver, of Putaruru, was charged with being intoxicated whilst in charge of a motor lorry on Saturday, sth inst.
The police stated that accused was found asleep in his motor lorry with a coat over him. The lorry was on the wrong side of the road, and there were no lights burning. Accused pleaded guilty. His counsel asked for leniency on account of accused having a wife and 7 children to keep. Accused was fined £5, and costs ss, in default one month’s imprisonment. His license is to bo endorsed-. He was given one month to pay Lite fine.
