DAIRY CONTROL

ERRONEOUS STATEMENTS. MORE MALICIOUS THAN STUPID. 'Times Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Saturday. Referring to the Press cables from London published this morning, Mr. W. Grounds, Chairman of the Dairy Control Board, remarked to a press representative to-day: "It is deplorable that our London representatives should be called upon to repudiate statements from New Zealand that Board aims at the establishment of fictitious prices to the detriment of the consumers. We are satisfied that these repeated 'statements arc more malicious than stupid, and indicate that some are prepared to deliberately sacrifice national interests to preserve their own profitable connection. These tactics cannot be too strongly reprobated by all having the national interests at heart. They are correctly appraised by most dairymen. and it is well that the general public shbuld understand the objective of this opposition propaganda."
