A.S.R.S. SECRETARYSHIP
CANDIDATE’S APPLICATION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. At the Supreme Court to-day, Mr Justice Ostler heard an application byThomas Stanley, of Auckland, a possible candidate for the secretaryship of the A.S.R.S., for an . injunction against a ballot placing three issues before members, on the ground that such action is ultra vires and contrary to the union’s rules. Plaintiff was a prospective candidate for the secretaryship, and the basis of his objection was that the ballot had the effect of restricting applications lo sucli classes of members as the issues in ihe ballot specified, whereas the rules of the union allowed a wider scope. After legal argument decision was reserved.
