WEDDINGS.

LAIDLAW— CARSWELL. A very pretty wedding was solemnised in Ihe Gordonton Presbyterian Church on Wednesday. May 7, when Miss Holly Carswell wan married to Mr Philip T. Laidlaw. The bride looked sweet and charming as she cn_ icrcd Ihe church on the arm of her father, Her dress, which was of while brocade marocain, was slightly draped and finished with a pearl ornament at the side, while Ibe loose sleeves of georgette gave il a very soft appearance. Her veil was prettily arranged with orange blossom. She carried a beautiful bouquet, of white chrysanthemums and asparagus fern. Miss Bessie Laidlaw. as bridesmaid, wore a pale pink sal in dress with nvcrskirt of silver lace and a pretty black hal lined with pale pink, while her bouquet was of pale pink and mauve flowers. The little flower girl, Cairo Fisher, a niece of the bride, wore a sweet liltle mauve satin frock, and carried a mauve and lemon posy. The bridegroom was supported by Mr David Laidlaw as best man. church, which bad been decorated by the bride's friends, was crowded with guests and friends. Mrs Dcnly played the wedding hymn and march, while Ihe Bev. B. Mackie was the officiating minister. After the ceremony the bridal parly and guests left for the local hall, where they were received by Mr and Miss I. Carswell.
