NGAHINEPOURI.
The Weather. Weather conditions are very unsettled, as we are again experiencing very cold windy weather, with occasional heavy hail showers. It is proving very cruel to stock without sufficient shelter, and the young lambs have suffered considerably, a number having died during the cold nights a great contrast to the clear frosty weather we were having previous to this.
The fields mostly have a very green tinge, and the willow trees are also showing up green, while a number of wattles arc in bloom, a sign that spring is coming. Sickness. Influenza seems to be dytng out in this district, although a few weeks back there were quite a number of families down with it. School. The Education Board has accepted a tender of £303 for the addition to our school, so that we can now be sure that Improvements will be effected. The school will close next week for its usual holidays.
