PREFERENTIAL TARIFF.
FREE ENTRY FOR BRITISH GOODS. Received August 15. 11.30 a.m. SYDNEY. August 15. The Farmers' Con Terence passed a resolution in favour of Hie formation of a new State, and defeated a motion for Hie formation of a compulsory wheat, pool. A motion urging Ihe Government lo review the tariff in order lo provide for free entry for British-made wirenetling and agricultural machinery, and to reduce the tariff ,on foreign articles was carried.
